Their pasted cuffs complete the traditional rigger glove design, making them a practical addition to a builder's toolbox, workshop or home DIY kit.
Designed for general-purpose use, the Scan Leather Rigger Gloves are suitable for tasks such as moving materials, handling timber, gardening and carrying out routine maintenance, provided the gloves are appropriate for the hazards involved.

Hardwearing Cow Split Leather Construction
The Scan Rigger Gloves feature cow split leather, a material commonly used in general-purpose work gloves.
Split leather provides a practical protective surface for suitable manual handling tasks and is valued for its resistance to everyday wear.
This makes the gloves useful for working with materials that may cause abrasion during routine handling.
The leather construction is particularly suitable for general building, workshop and DIY applications where hand protection is required.
Reinforced Patched Leather Palm
The gloves feature a patched leather palm, providing an additional layer of material in a high-contact area.
The palm is frequently exposed to friction when gripping tools, carrying materials or moving equipment.
The reinforced construction helps improve durability during suitable general handling tasks.
This makes the Scan Rigger Gloves a practical choice for activities involving repeated gripping and handling.
Reinforced Fingers & Knuckle Strap
The Scan Leather Rigger Gloves incorporate reinforced sections on the fingers and a protective knuckle strap.
These features provide additional material in areas that commonly experience contact and wear.
The reinforced design is particularly useful for routine manual work involving tools, timber and building materials.
Important: Reinforced knuckle sections should not be confused with certified impact protection. No specific impact protection rating has been supplied.
Striped Cotton Fabric Back
The gloves feature a striped cotton back, combining traditional rigger glove styling with a fabric construction.
The cotton back provides a practical alternative to an entirely leather glove.
Combined with the leather palm and reinforced sections, it creates a versatile design for everyday manual tasks.
Traditional Pasted Cuffs
The Scan Rigger Gloves are finished with pasted cuffs.
These form part of the traditional rigger glove design and help complete the glove around the wrist.
The cuff design provides a practical finish for general-purpose workwear.
The cuffs are not intended to provide a liquid-tight seal or specialist protection against chemical exposure.
Ideal for General DIY Tasks
The Scan Rigger Gloves are designed for a wide range of everyday DIY activities.
Typical applications include:
-
Home improvement projects
-
General building work
-
Handling timber
-
Moving suitable construction materials
-
Workshop maintenance
-
General gardening tasks
-
Handling tools and equipment
-
Garage work
-
Routine property maintenance
-
General manual handling
The gloves should always be selected according to the hazards of the task.
For work involving significant cutting hazards, chemicals, extreme temperatures or electricity, use specialist gloves certified for the relevant protection requirements.
EN388 Mechanical Protection Rating
The Scan Rigger Gloves have a stated EN388 mechanical protection rating of 2-2-2-2.
This rating indicates tested performance across four mechanical protection categories.
| Protection Category | Performance Level | Stated Rating Scale |
|---|---|---|
| Abrasion Resistance | 2 | 1–4 |
| Blade Cut Resistance | 2 | 1–5 |
| Tear Resistance | 2 | 1–4 |
| Puncture Resistance | 2 | 1–4 |
Abrasion Resistance – Level 2
The gloves achieve a stated Level 2 abrasion resistance rating.
This indicates a tested degree of resistance to surface wear during contact with abrasive materials.
Blade Cut Resistance – Level 2
The gloves have a stated Level 2 blade cut resistance rating under the supplied four-digit classification.
This provides a defined level of protection under the relevant test conditions but does not make the gloves suitable for high-risk blade handling.
Tear Resistance – Level 2
The gloves achieve a stated Level 2 tear resistance rating.
This indicates resistance to tearing under the applicable mechanical test.
Puncture Resistance – Level 2
The gloves have a stated Level 2 puncture resistance rating.
This provides a defined level of resistance under the relevant puncture test but does not establish protection against needles or other specialised puncture hazards.
Important: The 2-2-2-2 rating reflects the supplied four-digit EN388 classification. Later versions of EN388 include additional cut-testing information and optional impact protection marking. Check the current product label and declaration of conformity before selecting the gloves for a particular workplace hazard.
EN420 General Protective Glove Standard
The Scan Rigger Gloves are also specified as conforming to EN420.
EN420 was the European standard covering general requirements for protective gloves.
It has since been superseded by EN ISO 21420.
The supplied EN420 conformity does not automatically establish certification to the newer standard.
Where current PPE compliance is required, confirm the applicable standards using the manufacturer's product documentation.
