The Scan Dual Density Chukka Safety Boots in Black are durable, multi-purpose work boots designed to provide reliable foot protection and everyday comfort in demanding working environments.
Popular with workers in the construction, agriculture and engineering industries, these safety boots feature hardwearing grained leather uppers, protective 200-joule steel toe caps, a steel midsole and robust dual density polyurethane soles.
The abrasion-resistant leather uppers help withstand everyday wear, while the padded ankle collars provide additional comfort during prolonged use.
The anti-static, energy-absorbing polyurethane soles are designed to combine comfort, strength and durability. They also offer stated resistance to oil, acids, alkalis and heat up to 180°C, making the boots a practical option for a range of appropriately assessed workplace conditions.
Conforming to the stated EN 20345 S1P safety classification, the Scan Black Chukka Safety Boots provide essential toe protection and underfoot penetration resistance.
Whether you're working on a building site, carrying out engineering tasks or undertaking general industrial maintenance, these Scan safety boots combine practical protective features with a traditional black leather work boot design.

Hardwearing Grained Leather Uppers
The Scan Black Chukka Safety Boots feature durable grained leather uppers designed to resist abrasion during everyday workplace activities.
Leather is commonly used in protective footwear because it provides a strong outer material capable of withstanding regular contact and wear.
The grained finish gives these boots a traditional workwear appearance, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial and construction environments.
Their hardwearing construction is particularly useful for workers who require dependable footwear for regular site and workshop duties.
200-Joule Steel Toe Cap Protection
The boots incorporate steel toe caps rated to 200 joules, providing protection against specified impact hazards.
This protective feature helps reduce the risk of injury from falling objects and other workplace hazards affecting the toe area.
Steel toe caps are especially useful in environments involving:
-
Construction materials
-
Heavy tools
-
Engineering components
-
Workshop equipment
-
General material handling
The 200-joule toe protection is a key feature of safety footwear classified under EN ISO 20345.
Important: Protective toe caps reduce specified risks but do not make footwear completely crush-proof.
Steel Midsole for Penetration Resistance
The Scan Dual Density Chukka Boots feature a protective steel midsole designed to help resist penetration from certain sharp objects beneath the foot.
This is particularly relevant in workplaces where underfoot hazards may be present.
The steel midsole provides an additional protective layer between the ground and the wearer's foot.
Important: Penetration resistance is tested under defined conditions and does not guarantee protection against every sharp object.
Dual Density Polyurethane Soles
The boots feature dual density polyurethane (PU) soles, designed to provide a balance of comfort, durability and strength.
Polyurethane is widely used in safety footwear because of its practical cushioning and wear-resistant properties.
The dual density construction makes these boots suitable for everyday workplace activities involving standing, walking and general movement.
The sole design also incorporates energy-absorbing properties to help improve comfort during use.
Anti-Static Safety Footwear
The Scan Chukka Safety Boots feature stated anti-static properties.
Anti-static footwear is designed to help dissipate electrostatic charge under specified conditions.
This can be useful in certain workplaces where the management of static electricity forms part of the safety assessment.
Important: Anti-static safety boots are not electrically insulating footwear and must not be used as protection against electric shock from live electrical equipment.
Energy-Absorbing Heel for Comfort
The energy-absorbing sole construction is designed to help reduce the impact transmitted through the heel during normal walking.
This can improve comfort for workers who spend long periods on their feet.
Combined with the padded ankle collars and dual density polyurethane soles, this feature makes the boots a practical option for regular workplace use.
Padded Ankle Collars
The Scan Dual Density Chukka Boots incorporate padded ankle collars for additional comfort.
The padding helps reduce pressure around the ankle while wearing the boots.
This is particularly useful during activities involving frequent walking, standing or movement around a worksite.
The chukka-style construction provides a practical balance between traditional work boot styling and everyday usability.
Oil, Acid & Alkali Resistant Soles
The boots feature soles with stated resistance to:
-
Oil
-
Acids
-
Alkalis
These properties are useful in certain workshop, engineering and industrial environments.
However, resistance depends on the specific substance, its concentration, temperature and duration of exposure.
Important: Sole resistance does not establish chemical protection for the entire boot. The leather uppers and other components may not be suitable for exposure to hazardous substances.
Always confirm chemical compatibility before use.
Heat-Resistant Soles up to 180°C
The Scan Dual Density Chukka Boots have a stated sole heat resistance of 180°C.
This may be useful for certain working environments involving occasional contact with hot surfaces.
However, the temperature rating should not be interpreted as protection against prolonged exposure or as a temperature rating for the entire boot.
Important: The S1P classification alone does not confirm separate HRO contact-heat certification. Check the full manufacturer markings and test information before selecting these boots for hot-surface hazards.
Ideal for Construction, Agriculture & Engineering
The Scan Black Leather Safety Boots are designed for multi-purpose workplace use.
Typical applications include:
-
Construction and building work
-
Engineering workshops
-
Agricultural maintenance
-
General industrial environments
-
Manufacturing
-
Warehousing
-
Site maintenance
-
Garage and workshop tasks
-
General material handling
The boots should be selected according to the specific risks of the working environment.
Please note: S1P safety footwear does not automatically provide water resistance or waterproof protection. For prolonged wet or muddy conditions, footwear with an appropriate water-resistance classification may be required.
EN 20345 S1P Safety Classification
The Scan Dual Density Chukka Safety Boots are specified as conforming to EN 20345 S1P.
The traditional S1P safety footwear classification includes:
-
200-joule protective toe caps
-
Anti-static properties
-
Energy absorption in the heel region
-
Enclosed heel area
-
Penetration-resistant insert
The supplied product specification also describes additional resistance properties for the soles.
EN ISO 20345 has been updated over time, and newer editions include revised marking requirements.
Important: Check the exact standard edition and markings on the footwear before purchase. The supplied S1P classification does not automatically establish additional certifications for water resistance, contact heat or other specialist hazards.
Care & Maintenance
To help maintain the condition and performance of the Scan Dual Density Chukka Safety Boots:
-
Remove loose dirt and debris after use.
-
Clean the grained leather uppers using suitable leather-care products.
-
Allow wet boots to dry naturally, away from direct heat.
-
Inspect the soles for wear, cuts and damage.
-
Check the uppers and stitching regularly.
-
Examine the toe area following any significant impact.
-
Replace footwear if its protective components may have been compromised.
-
Follow the manufacturer's care instructions.
Important: Safety footwear that has sustained significant impact or penetration damage should be withdrawn from use, even where damage is not immediately visible.
