Gorilla Contact Adhesive Tin 200ml is a fast-drying, crystal-clear and versatile DIY adhesive designed to grip in seconds and create a strong, permanent bond.
The spreadable formula provides excellent coverage across larger surface areas, making the 200ml tin particularly useful for bigger DIY, repair, renovation and craft projects where a small tube or precision applicator would be less practical.
Gorilla Contact Adhesive provides fast initial grip with no need to support many suitable applications, and it can be used on a broad range of compatible surfaces, including vertical surfaces. Heavier objects may require additional support.
The multi-surface adhesive bonds materials including wood, MDF, laminates, leather, cork, rigid PVC, metal, concrete, plaster, stone and ceramic, making it an extremely versatile product for household and workshop use.
Its crystal-clear finish helps create clean, discreet bonds, particularly where adhesive may otherwise remain visible around the completed joint.
For anyone searching for Gorilla Contact Adhesive, contact adhesive 200ml, strong contact glue, fast drying adhesive, clear contact adhesive, laminate adhesive, MDF glue, leather glue or spreadable contact adhesive, the Gorilla Contact Adhesive Tin provides strong initial grip and convenient coverage for larger projects.

Spreadable Formula for Larger Surfaces
The 200ml tin format and spreadable formula make this version of Gorilla Contact Adhesive particularly suitable for projects involving larger bonding areas.
Rather than applying individual beads or drops, the adhesive can be spread appropriately across the required surface according to Gorilla's application instructions.
This makes it useful for:
-
Larger DIY projects
-
Laminate work
-
Panels
-
Broad bonding areas
-
Furniture repairs
-
Renovation work
-
Workshop projects
-
Multi-surface installations
Fast-Drying Contact Adhesive
Gorilla Contact Adhesive is designed to dry quickly and grip in seconds, helping reduce waiting time during suitable DIY and repair jobs.
The rapid initial grip is particularly useful where maintaining the position of components would otherwise be difficult.
Always follow Gorilla's instructions regarding application, drying time before joining surfaces and full cure time.
Strong Permanent Bond
Once correctly applied, Gorilla Contact Adhesive creates a strong, permanent bond between compatible surfaces.
Its versatility makes it useful for bonding both similar and different materials within the same project.
Instant Grip
The adhesive is designed to grip instantly when used correctly, meaning many suitable applications do not require prolonged support.
This can make installation significantly easier, particularly when working with components that would otherwise move after being positioned.
Heavier objects may require additional support, and any load-bearing or safety-critical application should use appropriately rated fixing methods.
Suitable for Vertical Surfaces
The strong initial grip means Gorilla Contact Adhesive can be used for suitable vertical applications.
This is particularly useful when bonding materials to walls, panels and other upright surfaces where a low-grab adhesive might allow the material to slide before setting.
Crystal-Clear Finish
Gorilla Contact Adhesive dries crystal clear, helping provide a cleaner finished appearance.
A transparent adhesive can be particularly beneficial for:
-
Decorative work
-
Visible joints
-
Light-coloured materials
-
Furniture repairs
-
Craft applications
-
Projects where adhesive residue would otherwise be noticeable
Wood Adhesive
Gorilla Contact Adhesive can bond wood, making it useful for numerous household, furniture and DIY applications.
For traditional close-fitting structural wood joints, a dedicated PVA wood adhesive may be preferable, but contact adhesive offers advantages where fast grip or mixed-material bonding is required.
MDF Adhesive
The adhesive is suitable for compatible MDF, making it useful for furniture, cabinetry and general DIY projects.
It is not suitable for treated MDF, so always determine the type and surface treatment of the board before application.
Laminate Adhesive
The spreadable formula makes Gorilla Contact Adhesive particularly useful for compatible laminate bonding.
Its ability to cover larger surface areas and grip rapidly makes it suitable for many DIY laminate projects.
The product should not be used on foam-backed laminates.
Leather & Cork Adhesive
Gorilla Contact Adhesive bonds leather and cork, adding further versatility for repairs, crafts and DIY applications.
For valuable or delicate finished leather, test compatibility in an inconspicuous area before proceeding with the complete repair.
Rigid PVC Adhesive
The adhesive bonds rigid PVC for suitable applications.
However, it is important to note that Gorilla Contact Adhesive is not suitable for PVC pipes.
For plumbing and pipework, always use a product specifically designed and approved for the particular type of pipe and application.
Metal Adhesive
Gorilla Contact Adhesive can bond compatible metal surfaces, making it useful for various household, workshop and mixed-material projects.
Proper surface cleaning and preparation are important for achieving the strongest possible bond.
Concrete, Plaster & Stone Adhesive
The adhesive can also bond compatible concrete, plaster and stone, making it particularly versatile for building, renovation and decorating projects.
Porous surfaces should always be prepared and treated according to Gorilla's application instructions.
Ceramic Adhesive
Gorilla Contact Adhesive is suitable for many ceramic bonding applications, providing a fast-gripping option for suitable repairs and DIY projects.
Materials Not Suitable for Gorilla Contact Adhesive
Gorilla Contact Adhesive Tin should not be used on:
-
Polyethylene (PE)
-
Polypropylene (PP)
-
Polystyrene (PS)
-
Treated MDF
-
Foam-backed laminates

PVC pipes
These exclusions are important because certain materials require specialist adhesives or may not bond reliably with this formula.
Contact Adhesive vs Grab Adhesive
Gorilla Contact Adhesive and Gorilla Heavy-Duty Grab Adhesive are designed for different types of jobs.
Gorilla Contact Adhesive Tin is particularly useful for:
-
Broad surface areas
-
Laminates
-
Wood and MDF
-
Leather and cork
-
Fast initial grip
-
Crystal-clear bonding
-
Projects requiring a spreadable adhesive
Gorilla Heavy-Duty Grab Adhesive is designed more specifically for demanding construction applications, gap filling and bonding building materials.
The best choice depends on the materials, size of the bonding area and requirements of the project.
How to Use
-
Check that both materials are compatible with Gorilla Contact Adhesive.
-
Do not use on PE, PP, PS, treated MDF, foam-backed laminates or PVC pipes.
-
Ensure the bonding surfaces are appropriately clean and prepared.
-
Remove dust, grease, oil and loose contamination.
-
Apply and spread the adhesive according to Gorilla's instructions.
-
Follow the specified application and drying procedure before bringing the surfaces together.
-
Carefully align components before final contact, as contact adhesives can grip very quickly.
-
Press the materials together firmly and evenly.
-
Apply additional support where necessary.
-
Heavier objects may require extra support.
-
Allow the adhesive to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions before subjecting the bond to significant stress.
